The trend of State GDP reveals a clear picture of the progress of a state. The trend of State GDP of different NE states can be understood by analysing a particular state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at a different year. The trend of GSDP is done based on GSDP data of different years and different base year periods.
The trend of State GDP (GSDP) of each state are discussed below:
Arunachal Pradesh: The GSDP at a constant price of Arunachal Pradesh in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹25,078 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹1, 72,586 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹5, 22,041 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹14,29,138 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This shows that the state income of Arunachal Pradesh has increased tremendously over the years.
Assam: The GSDP at a constant price of Assam in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹3, 76,895 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹35, 71,503 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹73, 44,442 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹1, 91,10,899 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This shows that the state income of Assam has improved a lot over the years.
Manipur: The GSDP at a constant price of Manipur in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹35, 603 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹35, 71,503 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹69, 79, 387 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹16,42,368 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This shows that the state income of Manipur has increased tremendously over the years.
Meghalaya: The GSDP at a constant price of Meghalaya in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹35, 575 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹3, 77,337 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹10, 41,308 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹20, 63,842 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This indicates that the state income of Meghalaya has undergone tremendous change over the years, and it has shown an increasing trend.
Mizoram: The GSDP at a constant price of Mizoram in 2000-01 using 1999-00 as the base year was ₹1, 62,718 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹4, 97,932 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) to ₹12, 32,360 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This shows that the state income of Mizoram has improved a lot over the years.
Nagaland: The GSDP at a constant price of Nagaland in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹25, 695 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹3, 26,704 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹9, 25,399 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹14, 66,049 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This indicates that the state income of Nagaland has undergone tremendous change over the years, and it has shown an increasing trend.
Sikkim: The GSDP at a constant price of Sikkim in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹14, 724 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹96, 388 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹4, 78,428 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹14, 36,950 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This shows that the state income of Sikkim has increased tremendously over the years.
Tripura: The GSDP at a constant price of Tripura in 1990-91 using 1980-81 as the base year was ₹49, 564 lakh. Over the years, its GSDP has increased considerably from ₹5, 15, 261 lakh in 2000-01 (1999-00 base year) to ₹14, 38,667 lakh in 2010-11 (2004-05 base year) and further to ₹27, 82,030 lakh in 2015-16 (2011-12 base year). This shows that the state income of Tripura was initially low; however, over the years, it has shown a great sign of improvement.
